From Business Owner to Trusted Tax Professional

Thirteen years of running my own business taught me exactly what my clients need

Meet Aimie!

Accountant by training, small business owner by experience, and here to make your numbers make sense

I've always loved numbers. In fact, I learned how to prepare income tax returns when I was in Grade 9, and I think I was the only one in class who actually enjoyed it. Each return was like a puzzle, with each person's situation telling a different story. That passion led me to earn my diploma in accounting and spend several years working for a national accounting firm, where I built a strong foundation and gained experience helping individuals and businesses navigate their finances.

Then life took me in a different direction. I left the corporate world to open my own clothing boutique—a business I built from the ground up. For 13 years, I experienced everything that comes with being a small business owner. I managed payroll, bookkeeping, inventory, staff, sales tax, and all the countless behind-the-scenes responsibilities that customers never see. Like many business owners, I wore every hat imaginable, and I know firsthand how overwhelming it can feel when your to-do list never seems to get any shorter.

Coming Back to What I Loved

During those years, I never completely stepped away from accounting. I continued preparing tax returns for friends and family because I genuinely enjoyed it. When two well-known accountants in our area retired, suddenly many people were searching for someone they could trust with their taxes. While balancing my boutique and raising two kids, I began helping more and more clients. Eventually, I realized something that had been quietly growing for years: I missed using the analytical side of my brain, and I loved helping people make sense of something that often feels confusing or intimidating.

Selling my boutique wasn't easy. It had been a huge part of my life, and letting it go meant leaving behind something I'd worked incredibly hard to build. But it also gave me the opportunity to return to the work I'd always loved. Today, I combine my accounting background with the real-world experience of running a business to help individuals and small business owners across Saskatchewan. Whether I'm preparing an income tax return, answering questions about payroll, or helping someone navigate the first steps of starting a business, my goal is always the same: to make things simpler, explain everything in plain language, and give my clients the confidence that they're making informed decisions.

At the end of the day, I don't just want to be the person who files your taxes. I want to be someone you feel comfortable reaching out to with questions, someone who takes the time to understand your situation, and someone who's genuinely invested in helping you succeed.

When I'm Not Talking Taxes...

I'm probably planning my next trip. Italy completely stole my heart, and I'm always dreaming about where to go next. Maybe Greece?

I'm a full-time soccer and cheer mom which means my calendar is basically controlled by other people's schedules.

You'll almost always find me with a book in my hand… you can’t beat the feeling of a physical book but sometimes the convenience of my Kindle wins.

Summer weekends are for the lake, backyard BBQs, and soaking up every bit of Saskatchewan sunshine while it lasts.
